Media: Reporting / Editing

Reporter
The Knickerbocker Beacon
I currently publish my independent work on The Knickerbocker Beacon, a new source for New York City housing and transit information. The publication offers exclusive data, investigative reports, renter guides, and critical analyses of the news affecting the roof over your head and the streets you walk on. My newest report there is an exclusive deep dive on a recent spike in extreme fires in NYC.

Associate Producer
Translash Media
As an Associate Producer for Translash Media, I used my investigative research, writing, and Python skills to help break the story of how conservative writer Abigail Shrier, author of the book “Irreversible Damage” laundered and popularized the pseudoscientific theory of "Rapid Onset Gender Dysphoria," using strategic media placements, and carefully targeted rhetoric.

Papers Please Chrome Extension
Library access is one of the most frustrating parts of research. Journalists, students, and professors navigate countless databases with different logins, subscriptions, and access systems—only to find that a promising title is often pay-walled. While access is usually available through a familiar library, checking is tedious and time-consuming.
To solve this, I created Papers Please!—a Chrome extension that lets users instantly search for books and academic papers in their preferred library. In just two clicks, users can access the information they need, streamlining the research process and saving valuable time.

The video to the right is my working prototype. I use it every day! The project is currently in pre-alpha, with a public release planned in the next year.
